execute

Verb B1 – Intermediate

To carry out a plan or task, or, in a separate and much more serious sense, to put someone to death as a legal punishment.

"The team executed the rescue plan without a single mistake."

Be careful with context: "execute a plan" (carry it out) and "execute a prisoner" (put to death) mean very different things.
