hydrogen bond

Noun B2 – Upper-Intermediate

A relatively weak attraction between a hydrogen atom in one molecule and an electronegative atom, such as oxygen or nitrogen, in another.

"Hydrogen bonds between water molecules are the reason water has such a surprisingly high boiling point for such a small molecule."

Hydrogen bonds are weaker than covalent bonds but strong enough, in large numbers, to hold DNA's double helix together.
